SnapitHD 360 Cam Alpha Demo
We are excited to announce the pre-release, alpha demo of the SnapitHD Cam to the public - launched at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES), Las Vegas - January 2012.
This live demo is the SnapitHD 180 degree camera, set up overlooking the car park outside the SnapitHD offices in Nelson, New Zealand.
Click and drag to move around the image and use the roller on your mouse to zoom in and out - please note: there are no moving parts on this camera, multiple users can view this content at the same time and all be looking different directions.
With one 180 or 360 degree SnapitHD Cam you can capture what would normally take 4 or more fixed cameras, this means the camera can be mounted in the middle of the action rather than off to one side.
We hope to have these cameras available for sale as construction monitoring, tourism promotion and security cameras shortly - more information to come.

Will the 180 and 360 panoramic aspect ratios affect the ability of the images to be viewed on public websites like webcams.travel or google maps?

The new online software will fit seamlessly into any website.. similar to the way the current player integrates. See example at http://www.metservice.com/towns-cities/nelson – Nelson Cam under Past Weather graph.
